This page explains what In The Light Roofing collects through this website, why we collect it, which other companies are involved, and how to ask us about your information.

Who we are and how to contact us

In The Light Roofing is a roofing contractor at 871 N Fenwick St, Allentown, PA 18109. For anything on this page, including a request to see, correct or delete your information, email [email protected] or call (484) 553-0213.

What we collect and why

  • Estimate and contact forms. Your name, phone number, email address, the service you choose and your message. We use them to reply to you, give you an estimate and, if you hire us, do the work.
  • Job applications. The form on our careers page asks for the same contact details, the job you want, what you tell us about yourself and any resume you attach. We use them to consider your application.
  • Details sent with every form. The page you sent it from, the time, and your internet (IP) address. These help us spot spam and fake submissions.
  • How visitors use the site. Pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser, your approximate location (city level), and which buttons and phone or email links are clicked. We use this, in totals, to see which pages help people and which need work. It does not include anything you type into a form.
  • Heatmaps and visit recordings. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use this website (where people click and scroll, and anonymized recordings of visits) so we can make it easier to use. Clarity sets cookies and hides sensitive details typed into forms. Microsoft processes this data under its privacy statement.
  • Phone calls. The phone number shown on this website may be a tracking number from CallRail, which tells us which page or ad led to a call. Calls to it are connected to us through CallRail, which receives the number you are calling from, the time and length of the call, and the page or ad that led to it.
  • The chat assistant. Anything you type into the chat window goes to Fastbots, the company that runs it, so it can answer you. Please do not type sensitive details into it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing.

How your form details reach us

When you send a form, our website server emails it straight to our business inbox, which is run by Google (Google Workspace). The website does not keep a copy. A resume attached to a job application travels with that email and is not saved on the website.

The companies involved

These companies help run this website. Each one handles the information it receives under its own privacy policy.

  • Hostinger hosts this website and delivers its pages through Cloudflare's network, which also counts page views and measures how fast pages load, without cookies.
  • Google runs our email (Google Workspace); Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, which count visits; Google Ads, which measures whether our ads lead to calls and inquiries and may let Google show our ads to people who have visited this site; reCAPTCHA, which helps keep spam out of our forms; the map on our contact page; YouTube, for the videos on some pages, which load when you scroll to them; and the Google reviews shown on our pages.   • Microsoft Clarity records where people click and scroll, as described above.
  • CallRail tracks which page or ad led to a phone call.
  • ClickCease checks visits that come from our Google ads for fake or repeated clicks. It sees your IP address and device details.
  • CleanTalk protects our forms from spam by checking whether a visitor behaves like a person or a bot.
  • Fastbots runs the chat assistant.
  • Trustindex displays our Google reviews.

Cookies and how to block them

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. The ones on this site are set by the tools listed above. The main ones are:

  • Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_CQVC9JCZG9, which tell one visit from another and last up to two years.
  • Google Ads: _gcl_au, which links an ad click to a later inquiry and lasts 90 days.
  • Microsoft Clarity: _clck (up to a year) and _clsk (one day), which join the pages of a visit together.
  • CallRail (calltrk_ cookies) and ClickCease (_cq_ cookies), which remember how you arrived. CallRail and CleanTalk also keep small notes in your browser's storage.

Our own pages keep one note in your browser for the current visit only, so the opening animation does not replay. It is deleted when you close the tab.

To block or delete cookies, use your browser's settings, or browse in a private window. You can also install Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics and manage the ads Google shows you at My Ad Center. The site still works with cookies blocked, though the chat window may not. This website does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals; blocking cookies works instead.

How long we keep information

  • Inquiries and estimate requests: we keep inquiries and related records for as long as we need them to respond, to do the work, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. If you become a customer, we keep your job records for as long as we need them for warranties, insurance and taxes.
  • Job applications: we keep applications for as long as we need them to consider your application and to meet our legal obligations.
  • Google Analytics data: Google keeps analytics data for the period set in our Google Analytics account.
  • Clarity data: kept by Microsoft for the period its privacy statement sets out.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (unless we have to keep it, for example records of work we did for you), or ask us to stop using it for anything other than your job. Email [email protected] or call (484) 553-0213. It costs nothing, and we will reply to tell you what we have done.

Some states give their residents specific privacy rights by law. We will answer a request like the ones above from anyone, whichever state you live in.

This website is for adults arranging roofing work. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Keeping it safe

This website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and our forms send your details by email without keeping a copy on the website. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send payment card numbers or passwords through a form or the chat window.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
